How do I change my carrier on an iPad Air

I bought prepaid service with a certain carrier for my iPad Air 13, but soon discovered their coverage is spotty in my rural location. The carrier installed an e-sim on the iPad. I want to change to another carrier which has better coverage. Do I now have to restore to factory settings (General > Transfer or Reset > Reset), or is there an easier way to change carriers? TIA

It depends on your current carrier agreement. If the eSIM you're using is not locking the device to that carrier, you should be able to get a new eSIM from a different carrier (with a new data traffic plan), and you don't need to reset the iPad.

Contact your current carrier and ask them.
