FaceTime Camera issue on iPhone 16

when i am on FaceTime with someone they still show while im on the call screen but when i go to a different app, my camera turns off and the little box that should be there to show them on the screen still isn’t there. I have the iPhone 16 and it’s on the latest update. What can i do to fix this?
