I want to connect the Roland Sounds from my RD-800 to garage band as midi. The Roland device has great sounds and I'd like to use those sounds in garageband, not as stereo, but as midi, so i can have the Roland sounds in, but edit them as midi.
Using: RD-800, FocusRite Clarett 4pre USB, Mac Monterey 12
Thanks Keith. I poor musician running 2017 MacBookPro Monterey... incompatible with latest Logic. Googulating with trouble concept of purchasing/installing older Logic. What do you say? Thanks again!
The Roland or Focus rite might have come with DAW software that might do what you want.
You will need to ask on the Logic board as to whether older versions are available. Being paid software, they might be.
Garageband has no concept of midi-out. You will need to get GB's smarter brother Logic.
