HomePod mini and the temperature

I am disabled and one of my condition says that I’m legally blind in my left thigh and someday I may become totally blind so… and right now. Things are not so bad but possibly in the future my sight may go so I’m trying to set up things with my iPhone, the HomePod mini to where it would give me the current weather conditions outside… and the temperature in the living room and bedroom with one simple push of a button or phrase. This came about because I got tired of asking Siri for the outdoor temperature and then turning around and asking her for the temperature in the bedroom and then the temperature in the living room all separately. So I decided to create a shortcut and have the time trigger that shortcut and it works beautifully, but the only problem is… that it gives me the degrees in Celsius not Fahrenheit and I can’t figure out how to change it. All my devices are in Fahrenheit.

Does anybody have a clue as to what I can I do?

I look forward to your responses.

Thank you very much!

Hello, let me first date by telling you that I am in the United States and in the state of New Jersey which is on the Eastern Sea Coast. Now I have checked my iPhone iPad and they’re all reading Fahrenheit.

Here is the shortest I setup and I have deleted it and recreated it. I have restarted my iPhone. I keep my Apple products up to date so I’m currently at iOS 18.2.1

i look forward to all replies

thank you for your time and assistance

It likely mirrors what your iPhone is set to. If this is the device you initially used to set up HomePod.

On iPhone go to Settings > General > Language & Region > Temperature to select Fahrenheit. Also look on the weather app in iPhone. The native app it came with to check settings are in Fahrenheit - you can find this in settings - weather and adjust it there

Close but no cigar…. I did as you stated and went under General and checked “language & region” and Fahrenheit was already selected. I then did a search for weather and found “temperature unit” which was checked to “use system settings” and I changed it to Fahrenheit but, it still gives me the HomePod units in the two different locations… the temperatures in Celsius but if I ask Siri, what the temperature is in the bedroom, she replies in Fahrenheit and then when I ask Siri, what the temperature is in the living room, she replies in Fahrenheit what if I use the shortcut it gives it to me in Celsius! This is very perplexing…. Thank you for your assistance and advice. I guess I will still have to wait for assistance.

Is it possible you set up one of the HomePods with an iPad? If so check that. Are you in a region that uses Celsius? I just asked mine and they respond in Celsius, which is what my region uses.

another thing you can try is to go through these settings again, then restart your phone and check it’s on Fahrenheit after doing so. Also restart HomePod, you can do this in the home app or unplug it for 10 seconds. Then test again. It might have been a bit delayed changing it for one of them. Unplugging might be your best bet to see if it resolves it.
