Magic Trackpad battery dies with no notification

My Magic Trackpad died without warning because the battery level was 0%. How do I get a notification about this? Some forums state that a notification exists, but there are hundreds of notification settings and I have no idea where to look.

I received notifications with my previous trackpad on an older version of macOS. I now have Sequoia 15.2.

Other forums state that the battery notification feature was removed from the OS. I'd like to know which information is accurate. Thanks.
