Copying DVD to Blank Disc on Mac Mini M2

I had a company convert an old 8mm tape onto dvd. I’ve played the dvd on my Blu-ray player and it works. I decided I wanted to try and make a copy of the disc for a family member. I have 2 external dvd players from an older windows set up. Both play the original disc fine. At first just tried to rip the disc to my Mac mini M2 which worked but the ISO image would not copy to a blank disc. Kept getting an error. Tried different programs like mkv and handbrake to rip disc thinking it was the program. I don’t think the blank discs are bad although they are a few years old. Basically looking to for a program that will copy from original disc to a blank disc on my second dvd drive vs ripping an image and burning disc. Is there a program that does this

I was able to find:

"No, iMovie doesn't support DVD video, so you can't use it to copy a DVD to a new DVD. However, you can convert the DVD's contents to a computer file and then burn that data onto a blank DVD. This process is known as ripping.

To rip a DVD, you'll need: The original DVD, A new disc, A computer that can play DVDs, and A video converter program.

You can use a video converter program to "rip" the digital content off the DVD and turn it into a video file, such as an MP4 file. There are free options online, but better options may come with a price.

If you're talking about a home video DVD, I believe that you can use Disk Utility to create a .DMG file containing an image of that DVD. You can then use the Finder to burn the image to blank DVD-Rs – creating extra copies of the home video DVD.

This used to be a way to get around the issue that iDVD took forever to create a DVD-Video disc – most of which was spent transcoding source materials to MPEG2 format rather than actually burning the disc.
