Siri issues sending text with car play

Starting roughly a week ago, when connected to car play Siri has had problems sending texts. I’ll say “hey siri” and she will come up with no issues. “Send a text to blank” again no issues hearing me. But when it comes time to listening to the text I want to send, her bubble shrinks and doesn’t listen to me. After a while she will say “what do you want to say to blank” and still not listen. None of my settings have changed. Siri works normally when not plugged into my car. Any help would be great.
