I am using ARMODD's iTags, a cheap alternative to AirTag. They've been so far so good but one of them had been completely drained a couple of weeks ago and I forgot to replace the battery. With the new battery put in iTag is automatically marked lost and I can't undo it. No way to mark it found. Neither it responds to Play Sound. Restarting the device didn't help.
Any idea?

Sounds reasonable. Although it would mean that lost status belongs to the iTag instance and not stored / maintained on Apple's end, right? Otherwise Apple would allow me to unlock lost tag within Find My UI.
Apple does not store any information of a Bluetooth tag, including its location as (for the Apple AirTag) the tag does not supply this type of data to the Apple servers. Location info would come from the phone's GPS.
I suggest you contact ARMODD support for assistance with this issue as this is not an Apple product, regardless if you use it with your iPhone.
