Inaccurate spellcheck in iOS 17 on iPhone 16 Pro

I just bought a new iPhone 16 Pro and the spellcheck is so inaccurate. It’s almost like it doesn’t understand English. It throws up words that don’t make sense, it has terrible, terrible grammar and vocabulary. It’s not even worth having.. I have no way of changing it other than looking in my settings to see if I can turn it off completely. If there’s a way to turn it off completely will someone tell me please.

Transferring Keyboard Settings to new iPhone:

First off, if you are on a new iPhone, then you should use Quick Start. Sounds like you are looking to transfer predictive text and auto-correction to your new iPhone.

  1. Restart: your iPhone.
  2. Go to: Settings
  3. Tap: General
  4. Tap: Keyboard
  5. Toggle Off: Predictive Text
  6. Toggle Off: Auto-Correction
  7. Restart: your phone.
  8. Toggle On: Predictive Text
  9. Toggle On: Auto-Correction

New iCloud Session:

If no success, perform a new iCloud session, meaning log out of iCloud, and then log back in.
