2023 Mac Mini M2 Pro slow read/write data speeds over local 2.5gb network. EtreCheck report included.

2023 Mac Mini M2 Pro 32GB ram, 1TB SSD. Running 2.5gb ethernet using my Belkin USB-IF Certified Thunderbolt 3 & 4 / USB-C to LAN Network Adapter into my Thunder Bolt 4 connection from my Mac Mini M2 Pro. My Synology NAS is running 2.5gb ethernet, the data transfer speeds seem ridiculously slow, average seems to max out around 100mbps with average speeds of half that. Activity Monitor shows around 10% CPU usage and Ram Usage close to 50% during the read/writes. My SSD read/write speeds seem to mirror my network speeds. I've always felt that the wifi/ethernet speeds were slower than it should be. I upgraded to the 2.5gb ethernet in the hopes of improving work flow since I installed my NAS, but with minimal improvements.

I've included my EtreCheck Report.

Thanks in advance for any ideas or help.

"Norton could kill network performance that much?"

Yes! Mac OS is catlike and does not require or benefit in ANY way by installing the following types of third party apps:

  • Antivirus
  • Security
  • Cleaning
  • VPN
  • Maintenance

Please locate Nortons uninstall instructions and then execute them. Then restart the computer in Safe Mode and then restart normally and test. All that Mac OS needs in order to remain fast, secure and trouble free is simply keep it up-to-date and restart your computer about 1x per week or so. Other than that please leave it alone!
