My emoji keyboard keeps showing me those ugly bald head emojis and they never go away. I clicked on them once on accident and they haven’t gone away. I’ve reset my keyboard multiple times, updated my phone, deleted my keyboard etc. nothing is working pls help.

On an iPhone, the Recents section of the emoji keyboard works as follows:

  1. Adding an Emoji to Recents: When you insert an emoji into a text field (e.g., a message, email, or note), it gets added to the Frequently Used section of the emoji keyboard.
  2. Mere Clicking Doesn't Add to Recents: Simply tapping or previewing an emoji without inserting it into a text field will not add it to the Recents section.
  3. The behavior of the Frequently Used Section: The section mixes recently and frequently used emojis. For example, if you frequently use the 👍 emoji, it will stay in the section even if you don't use it for a while, while emojis you use less often may cycle out.

Clearing the Frequently Used Section: If you ever want to reset or clear this section, you can do so by navigating to: Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Keyboard Dictionary. (Note: This will reset all learned words and suggestions, not just emojis.)

See the pic below which is self-explanatory
