Is it possible to revert to the old Siri voice?

I have a new Iphone 16 running the latest O.S. and I hate the new Siri Voice. The American woman sounds grumpy and like she has a hangover. I've tried all the others too and they are slightly better. Is there some way to go back to the old ones before the update?

Apple does not officially allow users to roll back iOS versions to previous releases, meaning you cannot revert Siri's voice to the older version if an iOS update changed it. However, users can change Siri's voice to different options available within the iOS settings. These options include various accents, genders, and languages, so you can choose a voice that suits your preference even though you can't roll back to the older Siri voice directly.

To change Siri's voice:  Go to Settings > Siri or Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri. Tap Language to changethe language Siri uses for requests and responses. --> Change Siri voice or language

You won't be able to return to a previous version of Siri's voice if an update has changed it, but you can try other available voices to find one that you like.

Maybe I’m showing my age or my hearing is not as nuanced as yours. But, I’ve had literally every series of iPhone except iPhone series 5. They all sound the same to me. If you need additional assistance consider providing feedback to Apple.

I always set timers for my breaks and Siri responds to that. Upon hearing Siri's old voice, my cats did know it was time for their treats and would come closer from wherever they were in the house! They'd learned to recognize Siri's voice as an "annoucement". Now, with the new Siri's voice (which is awful, by the way), they don't react. Shame on you, Apple. Five years of training in the trashcan. And an autistic customer completely dissatisfied with this change. :(((((

I think I figured this out. I was probably using an older answer, but it worked.

Open Settings > Siri & Search. Tap Siri Voice, then under Variety, tap to download the voice you want. You can choose from American, Australian, British, South African, and more.

Apparently this was older because it’s called “apple intelligence and Siri search” now but it still works.

The new directions leave the Variety step.

I asked this question originally after trying every single voice offered. What finally made a difference for me was speeding the voice up a little. Now the American Siri sounds a little less like someone with a hangover who does not want to be bothered. Just look in settings under Siri and you will find a slider.

I do find though that this Siri is not as good at finding information for me or even hearing accurately what I have said o my iPhone 16.

The only problem with disabling Siri is then you you don't have the service. I depend on Siri, to let me know when

laundry is done, when I have to leave for an appointment, to wake me on the mornings I have to wake early, to make a phone call when I am working with my hands, etc.

I find the new Siri is not as good as the iPhone 11 version at finding information. Sometimes I used to ask her to find out how long the local specialty market would be open and she just can't do it no matter how I pose the question. So, I no longer ask her for anything like that. I posted the original complaint and since there are now three pages of responses. Most agree with me. Why haven't I posted to apple where they might actually see it? Because I no longer think that they or any mega company cares what I want. They don't need me and they know it.

Yes, these new voices are awful. Give us back the classic voice.

You aren't speaking with Apple here on this user to user only forum, so no one here can give you anything back.

Feel free to use this link to provide feedback to Apple, like I did thanking them for the new and improved Siri voice --> Feedback - iPhone - Apple

The new siri sounds like she’s smoked 5 packs a day for 50 years. PLEASE find a way to revert back or add new voices stat.

You are asking only other users on this user to user only forum. None of whom have anything to do with Apple or iOS or Siri voices. So, no one here can change anything.

I like the new Siri voice and wouldn't be pleased if they took it backwards. In fact I like it so much, I used this link to let Apple know how much I like it --> Product Feedback - Apple

Now I suppose you could also use the link to tell Apple what you think.
