iPhone 16 not receiving delivered messages from android

I just got the iPhone 16 and when I send a message to an android it doesn’t say delivered anymore and the same text will go through multiple times. The contact is not blocked on my phone or theirs and I have restarted my phone several times. Not sure whatever to try…

Awesome thx! I also spoke to a Roger’s rep cause my RCS messaging said waiting for activation. So I was told I needed to reset my network connection and it fixed the problem. Thanks again!

Before iOS 18, all messages sent to Android were SMS and you would not get a Delivered message. You would get a message that said Not Delivered with a red exclamation point if the message could not be sent.

With iOS 18, it is now possible to send RCS messages to Android and you will get a Delivered message if it turned on and both devices along with the cell carrier support RCS messaging. You can make sure your device is set to use RCS messaging by going to Settings > Apps > Messages > RCS Messaging.

The 3 different types of messaging and the features are shown here:
