Multiple group text with same group name and members

There are 4 text groups showing in my iMessage with identical group name and identical contact members. All have the same names and phone numbers in the group. The messages are not necessarily identical as they are some message(s) that might appear on one group but not on others.

A new group gets created when I send a message to the group. And when I go to the "previous" group, I cannot comment or react to any posts.

When I click on the names at the top, I do not have the option to call or facetime the group. When I try to click on the names where it says "3 People", nothing happens.

Any idea how I can merge these groups as I want to keep all of the history?

And how do I keep this from happening.

(It is only this group of people. I have another group with these people plus one other person and this doesn't happen with this group.)

I have and Iphone 13 Pro Max with iOS 18.1.1
