How do I freeze rows and columns in Numbers?

This topic hasn’t come up in a while. I’m trying to freeze the first column in a Numbers document. I have checked “freeze header columns” but the column scrolls away just as it does when this selection is unchecked. Same thing with the header rows. Am I missing something? Does “header column” refer to my Column A or am I not understanding the terminology? Freezing rows and columns seems like a really basic thing to want to do; how could this not be a feature?

Hi xteep,

No, Column A is not automatically a Header Column.

I see you are using a Mac. On a Mac, click on the table to make it active. Format Panel (on the right) > Table > Headers & Footer.

Choose at least one Header Column.

Or in the Menu > Table:

Choose at least one Header Column.

Then Freeze Header Columns.

Ian.

Hey! The feature is included actually… it’s, if you take that special icon to customize the selected thing in all these apple office apps, and you switch to the „table“ category, it should be the thing called „headers and footer“. Picture attached - if that doesn’t work, I’m sorry, I have no clue
