How do I make a Genius Bar reservation for an iPad?

daughters ipad will not reset to factory settings after too many incorrect passcodes entered (toddler got ahold of it)

Turn passcode off is greyed out. Both required an IOS update. One was immediate the other I did later in the setup process. Before I did the update I was able to turn passcode off. Dang it. I just use them as Kindles. Just reading books. They stay in the home. I read a few posts and the most I could find was the screen time settings/content and privacy restrictions and that didn't fix the issue either off or on. They are on Find My but I haven't been able to get that to work with or without Find My.

Resetting an iPad without passcode Background: When we are called upon to clean airplanes (not in my job description necessarily…falls under the ‘other duties as assigned by management’) we sometimes find items left behind from passengers. If it is an item of relatively high value, we put our name, the date we found it, and end date it three months from that. The end date is the date we can claim it as ours if the passenger does not file a claim. That being said, I am now in possession of an iPad. However, because the battery had been drained and the device restarted, it needs a passcode…something I obviously don’t have. Is there a way to reset it to factory defaults without a passcode or a computer to hook it up to? I’d rather not got out to the Apple Store if I don’t have to (120 in the shade tomorrow). TYSM in advance.

Passcode problems My wife has never used a passcode on her Ipad Mini (with a home button). It worked fine earlier today. This evening when she turned it on it insisted on a (non-existent) passcode. How can I deal with this problem? Is it possible that someone else (somewhere else) has taken control of her device and created a passcode?
