Please try the following steps to solve this problem.

1. Open the (social media) app who uses the front camera and activate thru app the (front)camera
2. Swipe from top-right to below to open Control Center
3. In top you see the name of the app who uses the camera (example Instagram) and Controls
4. Click on Controls
5. Deselect Studio Light

I know with my non-Apple camera this results if I am taking a picture in low light, particularly if I am zoomed in.
