so, im on a family sharing account. everything is on for me to be able to have private browsing AND DELETE my history. i simply cannot have private browsing or delete my history. i’ve updated, restarted, and turned the settings on and off. please help☹️

Since you are a child account, if I understand correctly, underage account that are part of a family sharing group can not delete browsing history and can not use private browsing. Ask your parents to disable content and privacy restrictions under Screen time settings. If you are not a child account, you can disable it yourself by going to settings, screen time, content and privacy restrictions and disabling it completely.
