iPhone contacts not ringing or texting

Try deleting the contact from your list of contacts. Restart the iPhone. Try adding the contact back with the phone number and try to call. If that does not work, remove the contact again. Dial the number with the number pad, which you say seems to work. After you end the call, go into Recents and tap on the (i) at the end of the line and select Create New Contact. After that, test calling using the Contact this time.

Can you make calls to anyone? Check with your cellular carrier and explain the problem to them. They are responsible for call handling. See if it is anything on their end.
