I set a password on my iphone (currently iPhone 15+ iOS 18.1) to encrypt local backup but know most of the characters. How many times can I try to reset it? Will I just get locked out or will my data be deleted or ...? I do not use iCloud.

The bad news is that you won't be able to get at the backup unless the correct password is entered.

I definitely know about the bad news. The good news works. I know 5/8 characters ... unfortunately they're the alphabet components.
