What is this using up 5,5GB, then? God, why did I update the OS, I should have kept 15.1! This is infuriating, the disk space is small as it is and they still shove more bloat I never asked for! Apple intelligence is off and rm -rf does nothing, this auto downloads the Generative Model folder every time I delete it.

I just finished setting up a new M4 Pro mini today. When it asked if I wanted to use Apple AI, I told it skip (or whatever the choice was). I have no intention of ever installing it, either.

That said, I couldn't find instructions to remove it. Once installed, you can only turn it off.

To get that space back, you may need to reset the Mac to factory state and set it up as new again, making sure to tell it not to use AI.

It actually shows you have 202GB free, so the 5GB is just a drop in the bucket. There are many things that you will not be able to delete on your Mac. That includes the installed apps along with things like emojis that you may never use. There are also quite a few installed Wallpapers you will not be able to remove.
