10th generation iPad unstable connection on Facetime

Facetime always freezes, probably since iOS 18 upgrade. Despite Apple store wiping my ipad and reinstalling software. They even replaced my ipad with a new one and still same problem!! Online posts suggested turning off Center Stage would fix this. Retesting this after turning Center Stage off and even turning it off/on now seems to have fixed the problem.

Why don't the Apple store geniuses have this work around. Why can't the software engineers fix this problem with all this information.
