Dual Apple Studios KVM Switch for a Mac mini & Macbook M1 Pro

Hi,

I want to setup a KVM switch which has a Mac Mini & a Macbook M1 pro as inputs and which outputs to dual monitors one of them being a Apple Studio Display.

Please suggest if anyone has done similar type of setup and which equipments you used.

KVM switch for m2 Mac mini and a Dell laptop in order to share an Apple Studio Display Can someone recommend a KVM switch that will drive an Apple Studio Display? The two input/connecting computers are an M2 Mac Mini (personal computer) and Dell laptop (employer's computer). Both computers have Thunderbolt outputs and the Studio Display has one Thunderbolt input. I dont require that each of the Studio's features (camera, speakers, etc) function with the Dell, but they do need to function properly with the Mini, of course.

Physical Thunderbolt 2 KVM switch? I am sharing an Apple Thunderbolt display between a 2003 Mac Pro and an M2 Studio. It all works fine with the relevant Thunderbolt 2 to 3 adaptor, an HDMI dongle for the Mac Pro and MacOS's screen sharing. However, I am getting sick of switching screens in software, and wondered whether there might be physical switch that would allow instant screen swaps. Searching on line got my into a whole world of pain with anything that looked as if it might work costing many hundreds and being vastly too complex. Is there a simple solution, or should I just stick with screen sharing?

The Studio Display cannot be KVM’ed. You’ll need to physically reconnect the Thunderbolt cable to the active machine.
