Disable AI Notification Summaries

How do I disable the "Apple Intelligence" notification summaries? Specifically for Messages.

I'm on iPhone 16, iOS 18.2.

More often than not, the summary provided is not a reasonable summary of the message. I just don't ever want any message or notification or email summarized on any device or application. My life isn't so busy that I need to shred two seconds off of reading a text. I want to know that I received a message and then I want to open and read that message.

I currently have Summarize Notifications set to Off. In the settings for Messages, I have AI & Siri turned off and I have Summarize Messages turned off.

Is there a universal setting somewhere to just never summarize anything?

Today I "upgraded" my iPhone 12 mini and iPad mini 6 to iOS 18.3 and my iMac 24 to macOS 15.3. Almost immediately, my Mail Inbox was interspersed with "Summarize" messages that are confusing and inaccurate. I don't want them, and I can't find the settings Anthony Sbarro described for disabling them. I echo "Is there a universal setting somewhere to just never summarize anything?" I add "Can that setting be the default?"

For what it's worth, when recent updates have asked me if I wanted to enable Apple Intelligence, I've consistently said No. This is happening anyway.
