Logic, disk too slow recording

I just got a new MacBook Air 2024 (M3) 16Gb ram

The only program I downloaded is Logic (latest version out of the appstore)

I have connected a Focusrite 2i4

whatever I record, within 2 seconds I get a "disk too slow" message

This when I just record a single track without any FX

Even my 2009 iMac worked without problems so I guess its a setting I missed?

Could anyone lend their expertise on this issue?
