iTunes Search bar - Keyboard shortcut issue

I am trying to use iTunes and when ever I use the search bar there is an issue where when I type it activates shortcut keys. For instance if I start typing something that has an 'f' in it the file dropdown menu will open and interrupt my search. It does this with all shortcut keys. i.e. f, e, s, v, c, a & H.

Is there a way to disable shortcut keys when using the search bar? or to deactivate this crossover issue?

What am I doing wrong?

I'm using a PC and my iTunes is up to date.
