iPhone 13 Pro not receiving notifications after iOS 18.2 update

After the last iOS 18.2 update I no longer receive notifications. I have to open the apps to see that I receive a notification such as my Ring alerts, my Alarm system, message, etc. I have not updated my iPad to the latest OS update and my notifications still go to my iPad. Please fix this Apple, I cannot function without these very import notifications. I have an iPhone 13 Pro

I don’t mean to discredit you, but this is an iOS issue, iOS 18 as a whole so far has had this issue. It appears to be specific to the iPhone 13 Pro, and Pro max models for some reason. Maybe the 13 base model but I haven’t seen complaints of it.

search the web for “iPhone 13 pro notifications not working iOS 18” and you’ll find tons of threads on other sites, this site, all on the same issue.

Fixes include:

  • Reinstall broken apps (worked for me)
  • Some said disabling and re-enabling iMessage, not sure why iMessage toggling appears to fix it for some, iMessage registration issues appears to be the theory, perhaps with the new RCS integration something funky going on there.
  • Turning off Private Relay.

the bottom two fixes seem to be more rare and maybe random or not related to actually fixing it, reinstalling apps appears to work for everyone affected.

Reinstalling apps is all I could do to fix it, as far as I’ve seen, Apple has not mentioned developing a fix for this issue, but it is common enough on the 13 Pro models that you can find tons of people affected online.

It's not always the iOS update's fault!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution!

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.
