Help with iMessage, FaceTime, and Phone Number Not Working on New iPhone
I recently received a new iPhone, but I’m having trouble with iMessage, FaceTime, and phone calls. My phone number shows up in the device details, but it’s not connecting. I can’t receive calls or messages on my new phone—everything still goes to my old phone instead.
Here’s the situation:
- I set up my new phone first, but I didn’t receive the text confirmation from my carrier (Verizon) about the successful transfer of my phone number until after the setup was complete.
- My mother also got a new phone around the same time, and hers is working fine. (but she set it up after the phone number confirmation from carrier)
- I’ve already tried turning off and restarting iMessage and FaceTime on the new phone, but that hasn’t worked.
Would it be a bad idea to transfer the data from my new phone back to my old phone, reset the new phone, and then re-transfer everything? Or is there a better way to resolve this issue without having to go through that process?
I’d really appreciate any advice or solutions
