How to add website shortcut to iPhone home screen in iOS 18.2?

I thought this was accomplished by going to the desired URL in Safari, then tapping "Share" (box with arrow), then selecting "Add to Home Screen." However, this last option is no longer listed (just messages, airdrop, etc). What am I missing?

Add a website icon to your Home Screen

You can add a website icon to your iPhone Home Screen for quick access.

  1. Go to the Safari app  on your iPhone.
  2. Go to the website you want to add to your Home Screen.
  3. Tap  in the menu bar.
  4. Scroll down the list of options, then tap Add to Home Screen.
  5. If you don’t see Add to Home Screen, you can add it. Scroll down to the bottom of the list, tap Edit Actions, then tap  Add to Home Screen.

The icon appears only on the device where you add it.

Yeah… that is what I thought too, but still doesn’t work (for me).

I get to step 4 and that option isn’t listed (just messages, airdrop, etc). There also isn’t a “Green Plus” sign. At this point, I thought it was under the “More” button (with 3 dots). However, it is just a list of apps, plus airdrop. There is an “Edit” function, but this doesn’t include an option to add to the Home screen.

This is definitely different than in past versions of iOS. Are you seeing something different?
