Backup and restore Personal IOS data to Supervised device?

Hello. I'm trying to find out if this is a supported scenario or if it is even possible.

We currently have around 200+ iPhone users that are using their devices as personal devices. We are planning on moving them to Intune using Automated Device Enrollment (Supervised).

Is it any way possible to backup their devices, do a factory reset, enroll them in Intune, then restore the old data?

Is it possible to do backup and restore in this situation? Is there an alternative way to restore the data back to a supervised device?

If this is your corporate iPhone, it is important to reach out to the system administrator of your corporate. They will be able to assist you with any issues or concerns related to your device.

However, if it is your personal device, there are a few things to consider. Firstly, check if you have any profiles installed by your corporate, organization, enterprise, or school management. These profiles are typically used to manage certain settings or restrictions on your device.

If you do have a profile installed, and you no longer wish to keep it, you can follow the steps provided by Apple to remove configuration profiles on your iPhone. By doing so, you will eliminate the profile and its associated settings from your device. Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone - Apple ...

In case you need further guidance or encounter any difficulties during the process, it is recommended to contact the system administrator of the organization that provided the profile to you. They will be able to assist you in removing the profile or addressing any concerns you may have.

We are developing an employee management system where new employees use their personal iPhones (BYOD). To enforce organizational policies, we need to enable Supervision Mode on their devices. Currently, we are enabling supervision mode via Apple Configurator 2, but this process completely erases the employee’s personal data, posing a significant risk and inconvenience to the employee. Our goal is to enable supervision mode while ensuring the device's personal data is restored without removing supervision mode. Balancing data preservation and supervision requirements while adhering to Apple’s MDM guidelines is a key challenge.
