why wont all iphones get genmoji

All iphone 16, 15 pro & 15pro max get genmoji in the ios 18.2 update but now iphones before that? Like the 15 and the 14.

Because Genmoji uses on-device processing that requires the RAM, GPU cores, and speed that are only available in the A17 Pro and A18 chips found in those devices.


Another example is that the iPhone 11 and newer iPhones can do Object Detection in Photos and the iPhone X and earlier cannot. Software has always outpaced Hardware ever since the first computer and will continue well into the future.
