Can't change wallpaper when there is no focus

I have iphone 16 latest IOS 18.1.1. Suddenly, when I have no focus on, my wallpaper reverted back to the original. When I go into wallpapers, I change it back to my preferred background, but then it activates a custom Focus.

I can't get the default background to change. It locks a photo with a focus. The "Set as Current" button should set the current phone wallpaper to the background I chose. Instead it activates a focus and changes the background.

This is happening to me too and I don’t have any shortcuts. I can’t change my non-focus wallpaper without it switching to the focus that corresponds with that wallpaper.

I had the same issue, was driving me nuts! I finally realized that you don’t fix it in settings. You fix it on your Lock Screen by holding your Lock Screen and then selecting the focus mode for each Lock Screen that way.

I found a way to delete my old wallpapers to get it to work for just one for everything. When you’re logged into the phone swipe down from the top and then hard press on the background which will bring up all of your wallpapers.

I don't think there is any relation between Focus Settings and wallpaper assignment unless you have a Shortcut designed by the owner of the device.
