Fixing error “Sim is unavailable" in iPhone 13 mini

Hi, I dropped my iPhone 13 mini yesterday and it hit the ground quite hard, ever since then it has on SOS off and on and it keeps coming up with “Sim is unavailable’

I’m wondering if I take the sim out will I lose everything, like contacts but more importantly, precious photos and videos?
