Proof of iPhone remote erasure (with IMEI)

Good evening.

I have recently purchased an insurance policy that covers, among other things, the theft of my iPhone. One of the policy conditions is that I activate the theft protection and the Find My Phone feature, both of which I have done.

In addition, before they reimburse me in case of theft, the insurance company requires that I remotely erase my iphone and that I prove having done so. My question is then the following: once I use the Remote Erase function, will I get a confirmation of the successful erasure AND will the phone IMEI (or serial number) be shown in such a confirmation?

If not, can I obtain such a confirmation from Apple? It basically needs to say "we confirm that the iPhone with IMEI so'n'so has been remotely erased".

Thank you.

I don't think Apple Inc. will provide any such certificate.

Please be aware that a remote erase will only be initiated if the lost iPhone is connected to the internet. This means that for the remote erase command to be executed, the device must have an active internet connection. Without internet connectivity, the remote erase feature cannot function.

Thank you for your responses. I will clarify with the insurance company what it is that they mean. Concerning the phrasing being maybe optimized not to accept claims, I am not too worried about that. I live in a jurisdiction where that kind of behaviour would rapidly drive a company into the ground AND I have access to outstanding legal support in case they try to pull something dodgy.

Good luck!
