Where can I sell my old iPhone?
Apple does not pay for really old models, and what if I want to sell an old iPhone without buying another one?

You can sell your old iPhone anywhere you'd like, such as eBay, Facebook Marketplace, etc as they usually offer more trade in value. Just beware of scams. Also be sure to follow the article below to erase all content and settings before you sell it, so the new owner can set it up correctly.

Facebook Marketplace is usually good for selling things like this. Another option is if you have the Nextdoor app, you can list things for sale. This option is nice because you can narrow it down to your general area, instead of shipping halfway across the country.
Thank you everyone for the help and the quick replies. I decided to sell it to smartphonesplus.com. They are paying more for this old iPhone than Apple Trade In.
I wasn't expecting it to have a lot of value since its an old phone, and its not worth it for me to sell it on eBay.
Honestly, based on what it’s worth, I’d say just recycle it or donate it to a shelter or something. It’s usable as a phone at least.
Well, a 6s Plus can at least make and receive phone calls. So it's not totally worthless, but it can't run most modern apps and as time goes on, it will lose access to even more apps.
To test, I went out to Gazelle, which is a company which buys used iPhones. They wouldn't offer you anything, even if the iPhone was in flawless condition.
On eBay, if unlocked, they go for about $50. And you'd likely have to pay for shipping. I honestly don't think it's worth trying to sell the phone, but that's up to you. I'd be more inclined to wipe it per the link Zachyy provided, then drop it by an Apple Store or any electronics retailer (like BestBuy in the US) who will recycle it for you.
If you do want to try to sell it you would need to do everything which is detailed in the link Zachyy provided.
Define really old iPhone? Some really old iPhones can't even be used as a phone anymore. So before you try to sell the phone, let's make sure you won't be taking advantage of someone.

Glad to have helped. Once again, be sure to follow the article I provided above on how to erase all content and settings from your phone correctly, or else they may not give you money for it.
You're right, it won't update to the latest software. Its an iPhone 6S Plus. I know its not worth a lot, but I figured it would still be worth something.
Good point by lobsterghost1. The earliest iPhone Apple will allow you to trade in for value is the iPhone 7 Plus, for at most $40. Also make sure its functioning and all before you sell.
