I've tried formatting the hard disk and reinstalling Somona 14.7.2 as that's what was suggested at the Apple Tech Bar after they found nothing wrong from a diagnostic check.
I had 5 re boots yesterday and this on a completely clean Mac as I've not restored anything yet.
Very frustrating, not a cheap machine and a high spec to all me to study data science...
Surely there must be some logical explanation and fix?
If it occurs on a clean install of macOS where you erased the disk followed by reinstalling macOS and testing the computer in this state without installing any third party software and without restoring from a backup, then you most likely have a hardware issue of some sort, or you have encountered a macOS or firmware bug. Make sure to disconnect all external devices to eliminate them as a source of the problem.
The only other slim possibility is to perform a DFU Firmware Revive and/or Restore. This resets the T2 security chip & system firmware. With the "Restore" it also resets the SSD requiring macOS to be reinstalled through Internet Recovery Mode. The DFU Firmware Revive and Restore process does require access to another Mac, most likely running macOS 15.x Sequoia. I doubt this will help, but doesn't hurt to try if you have access to another Mac.
How to revive or restore Mac firmware - Apple Support
If you still have these Kernel Panics even under these conditions, then you will have to go back to Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider to have the laptop repaired.
Personally I would not spend any money on repairs for multiple reasons, plus the money spent on repairs is better put towards a new laptop (if you are staying with Apple, then the M-series Macs will be a huge improvement over the 2016-2020 Intel Macs with all their issues & design flaws).
By the way, it sounds like you are one of the few people posting on this forum who have properly understood how to test the computer with a clean install. Well done!
