Can’t find the control settings for my iPhone to vibrate on silent

The new iPhone I have just got is a new iPhone 13 and it is so good I have upgraded from my old and reliable iPhone 7 128gb I had it for about seven years and it has only had a new battery. My problem is that I can’t find the control settings for it to vibrate on silent or not. I have all the other options on the sound and haptic choice in settings any suggestions would be appreciated

thanks

Yes, I understand what you are asking. The fact is there isn't a switch that says Vibrate. As I indicated in my original response, you need to go in Settings>Sounds & Haptics, and under the section Ringtones and Alerts and tap on Haptics. There is the setting for Play in Silent Mode, which is what you want. Each time you change the setting there, you will see a short explanation of the feature below the list. If you just want vibrate on silent, then select Play in Silent Mode. If you want vibrate all the time even when not in silent, then select Always Play. These are the newer settings, there is no Silent on or Silent off. I have mine set to Always Play, so I get vibration all the time. Then you have the ring/silent switch on the side of the phone to turn off the ringer and just get vibration.

I’m so sorry to appear to be a bit backward or ignorant to the first time you replied to me but I have to do some research and stuff for me to understand what you are saying to me and the terminology that I don’t yet know. I find that a lot of people take it for granted that everyone has a working knowledge and experience with iPhone and that is not the case with me although I have used iPhone for about 7 years but I have only had a iPhone 5 my first one I had it for ages and didn’t want to get rid of it the size was unbeatable for the technology inside the build quality and how it felt was just right compared to the other slimmer more fragile phones from the other manufacturers. I got a iPhone 7 about 5+ years ago and only upgrade it as no iOS update available for security and now I have got iPhone 13 and it is so much better and the advancement is showing me how far behind I have been. You have been very patient with me and I want to thank you very much for your help, your understanding and explanation of how I would never have found what I was looking for because it is not there 😂 update and changes are happening faster and faster it will appear that I have to keep track of the things that change and how to make better use of them.

thanks again and all the best for 2025
