HomeKit & photo sensors

Before HomeKit, my landscape lights were on a simple photo sensor controlled dusk to dawn schedule. I disconnected my photo sensor and added my transformer to HomeKit (using Lutron outdoor plug) and now the transformer turns on and off on astronomical dusk to dawn schedule. Great. Have I eliminated the ability to have the photo sensors turn the lights on and off ( for example, in response to a daytime thunderstorm darkened sky) or is this not possible because I’m essentially trying to get HomeKit to do two contradictory things? Is there a work around so that I can have the transformer turn off and on based on light level changes between dawn and dusk? I feel dense for not knowing whether this is possible.
