Automatic download of Podcasts gets paused randomly

It happens occasionally that for a podcast I follow and have ‚Automatic Download‘ activated that stops happening. And when I open the show it says: ‚You haven't listened in a while.

Automatic Downloads are paused‘.

However that is not the case. It happens for Podcasts which release a new episode every 2-4 weeks and I listen to each new episode within days.

Don’t want it to pause downloads at all. Why isn’t this an option? Just because it takes me a week or two to get to a podcast doesn’t mean I want the downloading paused.
