Apple Intelligence download issue and region switch workaround

I am one of what appear to be several people suffering from the "Apple Intelligence download problem." I wanted to offer a word of caution, and ask for help.

Good news

1) Switching the region from and Apple Intelligence from US to UK Worked!!

Bad news

1) When I switched back, it was broken again, AND when I tried to switch back to the UK, that didn't work either... SO if you fix your issue by switching regions, you may want to avoid switching back!

2) I am now trying switching to New Zealand, but alas, it seems the region switch only worked the first time... new attempts to make it work by switching regions are failing.

I'm sure Apple is working on a patch! (I hope)... thought this info may help.
