Can I revert to the Mail App after the iOS 18.2 update

Just updated to 18.2. The Mail App is terrible. I just want it to be how it was, I don’t know, the entire time I’ve been in the iOS ecosystem. You know, like 10+ years.

I have the same question. I absolutely hate the mail update. Who ever thought that was a good idea must really hate humanity.

yeah it is absolutely atrocious. tried and true systems that function simply and effectively don’t need a bunch of suggestions and ai intrusion.

click the three dots, put in list view. as below. go to settings, mail, and turn off the ai junk and contact photos and summarize message previews.

works just like the old one.

these developers don’t get it. no one wants to change the way they do simple tasks.

What a useless mail update.
A lot of these ‘improvements’ are irritating and generally counterproductive. I loved my iPhone and Apple products >5-10y ago.
Not anymore.

We used to have a slogan at the Fortune 100 company I worked for at the time, "Embrace change." A bit hokey but still good advice. Change is going to happen whether you like it or not. You can either learn to accept it or sit around being very grumpy. The choice is entirely yours.

I think you're confusing "innovation" and "change for the sake of change"...
This change is a bunch of mediocre folks trying to keep themselves busy.

I think you're assuming that everyone has the same needs and wants as you and anything else is "mediocre."

The new mail is terrible. Please revert - no categories, no pictures, no unwanted prioritization. Just same old mail.

Not gonna happen. However, you can spend a minute or two reading the thread you just added to and learn how to customize the Mail app.

Because the Mail change happens automatically and wrongly categorised my emails I missed a business critical communication - thanks a bunch Apple

That’s on you, not Apple. Blaming Apple for your failings doesn’t make you blameless.

This is for lkrupp, who left a snarky response to my civilized question. You are not helpful. This was my first time reaching out to the Apple "support community" after decades as an Apple/mail user. I came here for help, and I asked my question respectfully. There was no need to insult me. I will think long and hard before reaching out here again.

When you go to a forum for assistance it is prudent to read what has already been posted. Expecting other users to repeat what has been posted multiple times in a thread is selfish, counting on others to do your homework for you. Everything you commented on has already been answered multiple times in this thread and others.
