It is supposed to happen because it is part of frameworks have been in the OS for a very long time, BUT it certainly is not the Pegasus that you are thinking of. There are also drivers for Pegasus hard drives and you do realize that Pegasus is also a brand of Hard Drives. The Pegasus Frameworks available on all Apple devices has nothing to do with the mercenary software referred to in the OP's post. No need to even make that connection as it is not factual.
Many times users will dig around in Analytics and find references to Pegasus, Stingray, Roots, etc and immediately come to the conclusion that their device is hacked or someone has installed some nefarious software. Those are all valid references found on all devices and many of those same logs have been inherited from the UNIX backbones developed decades ago.
