iOS 18 samba smb usb sharing read only issue

Access to a USB drive connected to the router via SMB (FAT32 file system) is in read-only mode.

How to enable Read-Write? Same for Ipad and Iphone with iOS 18.

smb write access not working after updating to iOS 18 I use some Samba/SMB shares, mainly on a home server and also from my router (Fritz Box). Both SMB shares now have access issues with iOS 18. On an iPhone 13 with iOS 17.7 there is no problem having read and write access to the same folder and shared folder, but on my iPhone 14 with iOS 18 I only have ready access... I tried to set up the connection completely from the beginning and also set the minimum protocol version on the server side to SMB3, but nothing changed.

Error when copying files from Files app on iPad to samba share I have a Ubuntu server on my local network that has a samba shared folder that I have successfully mounted with the Files.app on iPad. However, whenever I try to copy files from my iPad (iPad Air 5th gen, M1 processor running iOS 16.3.1) to the samba share, I get this error: you cant copy the item because its name is too long or includes characters that are invalid on the destination volume i have triple checked for special characters and even named the file “A” to ensure it wasn’t a long file name, so there is some other underlying issue here and I am not aware of a way to check log files to narrow down the issue.

ventura 13.2 : iMac shared files access from iPhone with smb://ipaddress since ventura 13.2 on iMac and iOS 16.3 on iPhone is my access from my iphone with files.app :browse and connect to server with smb://ipaddress to see shared files not working anymore. nothing changed in the setup on both sides before the upgrades.

Ensure it is configured with read-write permissions for the user accounts you are using. If you're using guest access it might have limited write permissions.
