iMovie 'needed permissions' issue with music access on Mac

When I open iMovie it says “needed permissions” and it has access to my photos but it wants access to my music. I press continue but whenever I do that, the screen turns gray and nothing happens. I’ve been doing this over and over again. So I’ve checked everywhere in my settings but there’s no where for me to allow iMovie to access music. Please help I desperately need to edit a video and I can’t do it.
