Hi, I'd read online that on the 16 Pro you can record calls in the call app, and then they are saved in the notes app, along with a transcription and summary. I'm in the UK. I've been able to record it, but can't work out how to get the transcription. Is this a thing please? Thank you

I’d hoped that English UK would come as a transcription language with 18.2 tbh. Unfortunately it still shows English US only. Maybe it’ll come further down the line - feels a little odd as US and UK English can’t be wildly different.

Now, there is no exclusion for Call Transcription for people in the UK. Did you read this link and is your phone at least updated to iOS 18.1 (current version today is 18.2) --> Record and transcribe a call on iPhone - Apple Support (MO)
As for Apple Intelligence, It was released for the UK, with iOS 18.2, so again, your complaint isn't valid. See how to get Apple Intelligence --> How to get Apple Intelligence - Apple Support
This is very helpful, thank you. English is on the phone recording list, but English Australia and English US are on the phone transcription list so it must not be available in the UK yet.
I do hope it comes soon - apparently apple intelligence is coming in December to the UK so maybe we'll get it later this month.
You're welcome. I suppose until UK English is released, you can change your language to US English and it may work for you.
