Siri keeps telling me how to stop a timer every time I set a timer

So glad I’m not the only one this is happening to. For me, it’s not every time, often a few times in a row and then it doesn’t happen again for a couple of days. Very annoying though. I’ve even asked Siri not to tell me how to stop the timer but it doesn’t take any notice!!

Annyoying! I use the timer several times a day, via Siri. Drives me bonkers, especially when I was intending to take a nap. The only workaround I have discovered, is to ask something else right away. Like "what's the current time?" That interrupts the Siri suggestion. Was hoping the December 11 release would have fixed it, but no such luck.

Why would anyone at Apple think this was a good idea? Tell us once—OK. Repeatedly? Makes zero sense.

No it hasn't. I updated to iOS 18.2 and when asking it to set a timer, Siri still replies, "at the end of the time you can say stop". So really annoying! Apple need to revert this back to how it was..

This behaviour was corrected. Literally right after I posted my response. it may be combined with the previous suggestions.Something worked:

scroll down the list of options to "listening suggestions".

Turn that off.

Thanks @ gck55 , the option on my iPhone is "Show Listening Suggestions". Have now turned that off. Will need to wait until tomorrow as Siri only says that annoying line once a day for me, the very first time it's asked to set a timer then doesn't repeat again that day for subsequent timer settings.
