Serious Editgpt.app problem with Pages

I made the mistake of running my whole book through EditGPT, which is pretty good, except . . . it adds a totally unnecessary formatting that spreads the formatting from paragraphs, so it's impossible to have a headline followed by text without manually removing it.

I have tenosynovitis, so manually doing this for 1,200 paragraphs is not doable. Any ideas? Is there some way to write a script that does this? I'm desperate!

You should have run EditGPT on a copy of your original content. Since you are on Sequoia v15.1 (v15.1.1 is out), you could have enabled Apple intelligence in System Settings and let it process a copy of your book.

If your goal is to replace those line separator (aka soft return) symbols with hard returns (aka paragraph marks), then you can do this in Pages Find/Replace tool:

Yeah, hindsight is always wonderful, isn't it? I don't know about enable Apple Intelligence, but I'll look into.

I got an answer from EditGPT and they are fixing it, but everything seemed just fine when I was doing it, so I didn't suspect anything. It turns out that the program sometimes inserts double carriage returns, but Find/Replace will not find those so I have to do it manually. If you know how to force it to recognize them as anything other than spaces, I'd love to know about it.
