Error When Reinstalling MacOS High Sierra via Recovery

Guys I have a very serious problem here. My Mac Mini mid2011 bootlooped and I installed MacOS X Lion there. For 5 days I try to update to High Sierra via Recovery but it gives me that dumb error: "The recovery server could not be contacted". I formated my whole disk as APFS, I resetted the time via terminal and nothing. What to do, help!!!

Those older macOS versions must be installed on a "GUID Partition Map" - "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" formatted drive.

After re-formatting, try downloading and installing either El Capitan or High Sierra.

If that doesn't work, try creating an El Capitan or High Sierra installer on a Flash Drive.

Ok thanks for that.

You're welcome.

I installed MacOS High Sierra with a command on recovery's terminal that blocked the dumb error I said about. I actually encrypted my MacOS Drive (APFS Enchanced *or something like that*) how much time will it take to boot up?

High Sierra was the first to use the APFS format, so it should install in that format. If not, then you may need to start over and install High Sierra on the Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format.

Install and Start up times can very. High Sierra was/is a very stable macOS version and so it should work fine If your Mac mini's internal drive is healthy.
