Syncing iPhone to PC iTunes

Itunes for Windows no longer displays the device button / icon, which is necessary to sync. Using the apple device app only syncs purchased music, which is about half my music library. Ideas, anyone?

It still works for my iPad. The iPhone is recognized and I can copy music there. But it does no longer synchronize so I don't know which music I heard last on the computer or my iPhone. iPhone 12 does not show up in iTunes 12.8.2.3 Hi all, My problem is this: My old and extensive music library is still sitting locally on my old iMac (mid 2011, OS Sierra 10.12.6) with iTunes 12.8.2.3 I can't get my current iPhone 12Pro (2022, iOS 16.1.2) to show up in iTunes in order to backup or sync music from my library to the device. I tried different cables and ports the devices all show up in my Apple account iTunes is logged into the same Apple account as my phone the iMac is also logged into the same icloud and Apple account any ideas on how to fix this? sync button won't activate I am trying to sync my iphone to my mac so I can get my music from my computer onto my phone. The phone is appearing in my itunes, but the sync button won't activate. I'm getting stuck on "loading", then after a few minutes I get the message "The selected device could not be found". How do I fix this issue? I NEED my music to be portable!

Uninstall any of Apple Music, Apple TV, and Apple Devices that you have installed. Now if you relaunch iTunes and select Music from the media selection drop down tool you should see your library as it was before you installed Apple Music, and iTunes should be able to sync your device once more.
