Is it possible to create and insert a standardised photo into a Keynote presentation?

Is it possible to create a standardized photo size to insert a photo into a presentation without having to do so every time you add a photo to a slide?

Pictures added to a slide always take their 'natural' size (i.e. the size of the image in pixels) unless it's bigger than the slide dimensions, in which case the image is scaled down to fit the slide.

The extension to this is if you replace an image on the slide with another slide, in which case the replacement maintains the properties (size, position, orientation, etc.) of the original image.

So the best I can think of right now is to prepare your slide (e.g. via a Template) to have a placeholder image at the size you want, then replace that image with the desired image on each slide (via Inspector -> Image -> Replace)
